What Comes First the Art or the Artist

Is there ever art without an artist? Is there ever a marble sculpture without the sculptor? Is there ever a building with an architect? Now lets take that one step further and ask, is there ever a mother without a mom? Is there ever a leadership without a leader? Is there ever a corporate direction without a CEO?

Every system or thing created by mankind, took mankind to create, sustain, and maintain that system or thing. Therefore, it is not the system or the thing that is important, it is the person behind the system or thing.

Yet in today's culture we tend to spend more time on the system or the thing than we do on the person. We spend more time on the mechanics of the art, or the mechanics of sculpting, the engineering and mechanics of the building, the role of leadership than the leader, the principles of mother hood rather than the mother, and the strategy of corporate success rather than the CEO themselves.

If people, you and I, are behind all the beauty of art and sculpting and parenthood and leadership and business success then we should spend at least as much time on US, because we are the PERSON behind the art, the beauty, the building, the parent, the successful leader and CEO. Spend time on making the person beautiful, artistic, elegant, successful, healthy, wise, wealthy, sound in mind-body-emotions.

It is YOU, ME, US, THEM, WE, OURSELVES, THEMSELVES, THEIR, OUR, and I - that first need to rid ourselves of everything that hinders us from becoming the full expression of our common nature, as well as the full expression of our uniqueness.

Optimizing Self-Actualization is that process of optimizing the soul, the person, the YOU, ME, US, THEM, WE, OURSELVES, THEMSELVES, THEIR, OUR, and I and through and because of that optimization, our art becomes better, our business becomes great, our wealth becomes assured, our relationships become great; because, greatness in everything lies within us sentient beings and not in what we produce or do. This greatness is within us and the external beauty we create is but a reflection of the internal -If we want a beautiful life, a beautiful world, beautiful relationships, beautiful finances, beautiful careers; then we release the beauty inside of us and become the best us that we can become, the best us that we are capable of becoming.

Optimizing Self-Actualization presupposes that even though mankind can do some incredible damage to themselves, others, and the world - it is only through deficiency, fear, lack, sickness in mind-body-emotions that bring about this power to hurt, but, remove the deficiencies, the fear, the lack, and the sickness in mind-body-emotion and the true human spirit emerges and it is a spirit of beauty and greatness.

I long to see that beauty and greatness in fuller measure, it can happen, and it will happen because the world is recognizing the greatness of our potential and that the new focus of attention is on the development of the soul, of the person, of the mind-body-emotions.
